Research Work

My two years at SAIS studying political economy shaped my interest in investigating the social and economic disparity between Western and Eastern Europe. During my last semester, I focused on writing a paper for Advanced Topics in International Political Economy class which served as a capstone work meeting the requirement of my concentration. 

I was in the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in Northern Italy - one of the first places where cases began rising dramatically in late February 2020. This motivated me to examine the impact of the lockdowns on the economies of Europe thus writing a paper for European Financial Markets class. Professor Erik Jones encouraged me and a group of students to  publish their written work about the impacts of pandemic on their chosen countries.   

Throughout my graduate school years, I developed and improved my analytical and quantitative ability by analyzing issues ranging from civil wars to economic projections of currency valuations. The coursework along with skills courses in Excel, Tableau, and STATA have helped me approach problems with analytical mind and present actionable solutions based on data analysis.      

The final year of my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida has culminated in an comprehensive overview of the consequences of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's policies on the political and economic development of Belarus in the last 25 years.
